Camp Royal

Camp Royal is a leadership training program for high school juniors, funded and run by Rotary District 5160. Founded in 1979, Camp Royal has become one of the top leadership camps for high school students in the country. Student leaders from throughout the district attend to develop advanced leadership skills with help from Rotarians, professional counselors, educators and keynote speakers. The program is concentrated, energy packed week of information, ideas and strategies that will help the camper return to his/her high school and be a more effective leader. The Mount Shasta Rotary has sponsored students to Camp Royal for over 20 years.

Camp Venture

Each year Mount Shasta Rotary sponsors two high school juniors’ participation in Camp Venture; held at the Maritime Academy in Vallejo, Ca. This four day entrepreneurial camp is designed to teach students how to run their own business. This stimulating and fun experience encourages the student’s interest in forming their own business; giving them hands on experience in working as a team, preparing a business plan, understanding financial requirements, creating web site and developing marketing strategy.
