                                         Camp Venture
                          Rotary looks for future entrepreneurs

The Mount Shasta Rotary is currently accepting applications from high school juniors to attend Camp Venture, an entrepreneurial business leadership camp for future small business owners, leaders and managers.  This is a 5 day "business creation" camp at the California State University Maritime Academy, in Vallejo, California.  With instruction and guidance from various business consultants, the students "form" small businesses. In addition to having a lot of fun, learning business skills, and meeting new friends, students gain great experience to help prepare them for college and community life.

Camp Venture was founded by a Rotary in partnership with the YMCA.  Rotary District 5160 is proud to continue this camp for over 15 years. Rotarians from all over Northern California volunteer to create a successful experience for everyone involved. All camp fees, including travel to and from Camp Venture, are covered by Rotary. Camp Venture will be held at the Maritime Academy in Vallejo, California, from June 27 to July 2, 2014.

The deadline to apply to Camp Venture is April 10, 2014. Applications are available by clicking the link below or
from Mrs. Bright Nichols-Stock at the MSHS. For additional information, contact Kathy Suvia, the Mount Shasta Rotary Camp Venture Coordinator at [email protected] or 859-1422 or visit the Camp Venture website at http://rotary5160.org/programs-youth/camp-venture/ .
